A: There are three common reasons:

1. The wood pellets are too moist.
If the pellets have absorbed moisture or were stored in a humid environment, they become difficult to ignite and won’t reach the temperature needed to produce smoke.
👉 Tip: Always keep the pellets dry and store them in a sealed bag or a dry place.

2. Insufficient heating or a weak flame source.
The pellets need time to preheat before they start smoking. A quick one-second flame won’t work.
👉 Tip: Use a windproof torch lighter and heat through the fuel intake at the base for 10–20 seconds until the pellets are fully activated. Standard disposable lighters are usually too weak to ignite it properly.

3. Moisture remaining after cleaning.
If the product was recently cleaned, residual water inside the chamber or airflow path can prevent proper ignition.
👉 Tip: After cleaning, make sure the unit is completely dry before adding pellets and igniting. Air-drying for several hours or using gentle heat can help remove any remaining moisture.
